Duties:
  • Reports to the Division Chair, Nursing and Allied Health
  • Maintains standards of professional nursing practice as an individual and as a member of the nursing team. Mentors laboratory faculty. Serves as a role model for nursing students.
  • Maintains competency in all designated practice areas by participating in continuing education programs and maintaining membership and participation in the Tri-State LRC consortium and the INASCL association.
  • Maintains standards of practice for the nursing laboratory as they apply to the State Board of Nursing and OSHA. Maintains an OSHA Compliant Health & Safety Manual for the skill and simulation laboratories.
  • Manages and oversees daily operations of the clinical laboratories to include training faculty on the use of laboratory and simulation equipment. Coordinates with faculty to prepare set-ups for all skill and simulation experiences. Monitors laboratory usage by students and evaluates effectiveness. Creates and maintains a policy and procedure manual for the laboratories. Produces an annual report.
  • Tracks, orders and manages inventory, including repair and replacement of broken equipment. Records updates on additions or changes in the laboratory environment. Manages clinical laboratory expenditures and projects budgetary needs.
  • Manages student remediation activities to include planning and implementing special student clinical learning and refresher events (Expo, brown bag lunches, and Re-entry).
  • Oversees the use of the ATI Learning System by faculty and students to include generating outcome reports and aggregating data.
  • Schedules student clinical rotations, orientations and badge distributions. Manages student health and program wide requirements and prepares clinical attestations reports.
  • Schedules laboratory staff and orients to laboratory equipment and environment. Evaluates laboratory staff as directed by Division Chairperson.
  • Attends Nursing Program meetings and serves on committees. Participates in the recruitment and retention of nursing and allied health students.
Minimum Requirements:
  • NJ RN license
  • BSN degree
  • MSN degree preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of clinical nursing experiences preferably in a variety of specialty areas.
  • Experience with technology in areas of simulation.
  • Experience with mentoring and remediation students.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Computer literacy to include Microsoft Office Products and Blackboard Learning System.

Atlantic Cape location.
